Hi Paul! Thanks for that! Will do when I've read through the owners manuals (a.k.a. War and Peace!). I wonder if anyone else has the same trouble as me understanding all this new technology??!! Cheers! Tim

Paul R/2017/280 RUBBER DIESEL FUEL FEED PIPE MAY HARDEN OR CRACK Description : The diesel fuel feed pipe that supplies fuel to the high pressure pump may deteriorate prematurely. The customer may initially notice the smell of diesel fuel leaking onto the engine. If the concern is not resolved the rubber hose may harden and crack due to fatigue. This in turn could allow the pipe to leak diesel fuel onto the engine. As with all fuel leaks there is a risk of catching fire. Remedial Action : Recall the 24 vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the fuel feed hose. Strangely VIN numbers are not stated.

Hi There,
I have a puzzler here. I thought this might have been a stone in the rear breaks, but now it seems to be a grating noise when I accelerate - its intermittent but seems worse after going around a tight corner? Any ideas what it could be?
So far the garage hasn't been able to look at it - but I'm worried that its safe to drive ?

Thanks so much for any insight any members may have.

Hi. Just purchased a 55 plate XT v6 for towing our caravan & 3rd car and I have a few questions regarding the headlights. Are both headlights powered as only the drivers side on mine will adjust up & down on the 0-3 scroll switch? Again the headlights, the lenses are very foggy (which seems the norm) I have tried restore a kit with limited results. My question; Can/is it possible to fit the later facelift headlights with projector lens as these seem to be much better lights and I have found some good ones available. Does for instance, the connecting plugs and relays need changing. Many thanks.

The body shapes are different and there are minor variations in the 'cut-lines'. These include the headlights and you will probably notice some gaps/tight fitting. Not sure about the harnesses and connectors. However, Kia did appear to have a policy of changing stuff deliberately to mess with the aftermarket suppliers (and modifiers).
PS Both sides should level. Sounds like a bad connection on one side.
PPS Just in case you are looking at non-UK supplier for those lights. USA and similar are certainly different connectors as they do not have the levellers.

Yes that's a fair point and it's also seems fairly obvious to me that with it being a known problem on these sorentos, it's worth checking regularly.......you would think

While recently searching for some car parts I came across a USA spec Sorento being scrapped. I noticed that the steering column light & wiper stalks for sale were indicators & wipers on the left stalk and lights etc on the right as is the most usual set up for cars. Because I keep switching on the wipers instead of the indicators on the Sorento especially because my other 2 cars & the missus ones have the normal wipers/indicators = left, lights /etc = right set up. I am tempted to purchase the USA LH drive stalks but before I do, does anyone know if will they will fit our UK spec cars?

Hi Paul, Huge apologies for not answering your question, I have not been on the Forum since the day I posted the recall due to personal circumstances. Many thanks to Gee6 for showing readers the way . I hope it helped at least one of the 24 owners affected .

I have just been informed by a Kia dealer that the UJ requires rebuilding on my 2006 Sorento, and they have disconnected the front drive shaft. My question is can the car still be put in low box?

Anyone fitted a pioneer unit in their MK1 Sorento? I have just ordered a Pioneer MVH-X580DAB at a knockdown price (arriving next week) and now wondering about;
1. How to power the aerial, as there does not appear to be the usual antennae wire. Being as the aerial is a brand new OEM Kia one I would like to keep it;
2.As the pioneer unit is mechless, is it possible to easily connect the Sorento's multi-change player to new head unit?
3. I have also ordered a surround to fit the new 1 din unit, my original Kia unit has the green display satnav and associated slots below. I assume all this can be removed - is that correct?
Thanks in advance for any answers to the above queries.

Mine is a Pioneer double din...there will be a supply from the unit to a sub or auxilliary which you can use to power the aerial..you will need the plastic trim removal tools to remove the side trims on your dash...be patient they're fragile..fitting the unit will be obvious when you have the old one out.

2.As the pioneer unit is mechless, is it possible to easily connect the Sorento's multi-change player to new head unit? I think that would be down to compatability of connectors. Not sure brand of changer you have (ie that Kia UK specified or previous owner fitted) but unlikely to be Pioneer. You may have to figure out some interlinkery
