2.As the pioneer unit is mechless, is it possible to easily connect the Sorento's multi-change player to new head unit? I think that would be down to compatability of connectors. Not sure brand of changer you have (ie that Kia UK specified or previous owner fitted) but unlikely to be Pioneer. You may have to figure out some interlinkery The CD changer make is "UART Digital" with a label made in Korea so I assume its an OEM fitment, but strangely its mounted in the boot and not under the drivers seat so a previous owner must have relocated it for some reason.

Mine is a Pioneer double din...there will be a supply from the unit to a sub or auxilliary which you can use to power the aerial..you will need the plastic trim removal tools to remove the side trims on your dash...be patient they're fragile..fitting the unit will be obvious when you have the old one out. Okay thanks. It seems the unit has the usual blue/white cable required so should be no probs. Pity about no CD though, it seems the Pioneer I bought has no rear inputs, Blast!

As far as I am aware, UK spec Mk1 Sorentos came into the UK without stereo equipment. This was specified by Kia UK and fitted at their workshops (at the docks) on arrival. This is also where they changed wheels for XT type models and fitted the model designators (XE/XS/XT etc). (Although I have seen the latter being done at the Dealer's shop).

I chose a double din so that I could have a camera which I find very useful for hitching the trailer and the caravan, I have mine switched with a camera on the back of the caravan as well which allows you see following traffic better than the towing mirrors (which I have).

I thought about a 2din for a similar reason as you, but because I have a stand alone caravan/lorry GPS 7" screen that is linked to rear view/backup camera. But decided against it because I could not find a 2din that can provide the same information as the caravan GPS i.e. avoidance's, narrow lanes, low bridges, etc. As for a rear camera on the caravan, I have that too but have a wireless link to a rear view mirror clip on screen, not great but it works, covers that blind spot directly behind. I would love to have a one for all on a 2din, but alas I don't think there are any on the market.

Not sure if anyone else has done this but..My tailgate door key lock barrel was seized & because I never used a key to open it anyway I decided to remove it & detach the link rod to stop it rattling (the central locking & internal rod/button to open manually still are unaffected & still work). I then found a camera of the correct diameter that would flush fit in the hole. Attached a transmitter,(receiver end goes to my lorry GPS which has socket for a camera) live feed taken from reverse light. The reverse camera works a treat. Cons are- I am still looking for a flush camera that is adjustable though as the one I have is off center due to position, also threading the cable through the door, then the flexible rubber cable ducts at top of door takes a long time but the easy bit was running wire through the headlining & down the inside of the RH paneling (after removal)& solder joints the wiring.

Can it Be the ignition switch or a relay ? Or something else, Yes. (I know, not very helpful; but you need to check to see if there are any diagnostic codes to help, or any other clues.)

Hi Can anyone advise me on Caravan electrics, My KIA dealer is telling me that the bulb failed indicator on my dash is all I need yet I have always had a audio "bleeping" telling me that the circuit ( bulb ) is working which I thought was law.
This is a new car to me but my second Sorento and KIA have on a new tow hitch

Law states you have to have a warning
That can be either a buzzer or ligh, my sorento has buzzer but previous ford focus had a light

G'day fellow Kia people. I have a 2004 3.5 petrol sorento. I have been having problems with the indicators staying on when I start the car (ie not blinking but staying illuminated). A friend came around who is a very busy mechanic and took a relay out from the left hand side dash panel. (found when open the passenger door) I went to the local auto shop and purchased another relay but the problem still persists. Has this been mentioned here before on the forums? All help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Robski
