Hi. I recently got a 16 plate Sorento the KX-3. It has a button on the sunroof which has a wifi icon. I can't find anything in the manual, nothing in the cars system and nothing online to explain what this button is for. It has a blue light, which goes off when you press it. So far, that;s about all I can ascertain that this does. Any ideas? Paul

Cheers. I found those also, but the US Sorento appears to be quite different from the UK one and the one I have doesn't have the myuvo function (it's not mentioned anywhere in the car, or in the manual).
The manual makes no mention of the wifi button, anywhere. The only connectivity it mentions is Bluetooth. I might just take it to the dealer and say 'What the feck is this button for' and hope they know.
Cheers

My sorento XS2005 has developed a noise, a knock knock knock from the rear axle when under hard acceleration or under load when towing. I have had the prop shaft off to check the UJ'S and they are fine. Any ideas what it can be? Many Thanks lymingtonpeter

Many Thanks lymingtonpeter Silly question but have you managed to get underneath and check the "area of concern" of the rear axle and the shocker locations for "flex" Or it could be your exhaust rubber let go allowing the exhaust to catch the chassis etc

I would be most grateful of any help. I have a 2006 Kia sorento and last week the rear axle brackets failed due to corrosion and detached from the car breaking both shock absorbers. We were extremely lucky that were weren't involved in an accident because of it. I had seen the information about this problem on a forum and called Kia UK who told me that I would need to take the car to one of their garages to confirm that this had happened and the car would then be fixed for me. Once the car was at the garage they rang and said that the corrosion was not limited to just the rear axle brackets and the following parts would need to be replaced totalling at least £7500!!
Parts required are chassis frame assembly , both rear brake hoses , both rear brake pipes , both rear abs sensors , both rear brake back plates & fixing bolts ,
both upper rear arms , both lower rear arms , both rear shock absorbers , both rear abs pick up sensor rings , both rear axle shaft oil seals & “o” rings , both side
Has anyone had anymore experience of underbody corrosion to this extent? The car has done 90k and has not been used to tow or In Water etc. (just been driven on roads). I am shocked that the corrosion to this extent would occur in a car that has had such a 'normal' usage. Does anyone have any information on the rust proofing process undertaken on the cars I.e. If the rust proofing was substandard on the brackets is it likely that the body would have undergone the same treatment? Many thanks!

Hi there, been a member for a couple of years now but only just got round to posting a new item! I'm on my second Sorento Mk1, first was an 04 SE auto which I owned for 2 years and should never have sold as have had to buy an 05 XSE auto to replace the first one! Both have been used for caravan towing and trips to Italy & back (family down there) can't think of a better car to do all this in. Cheers!

Hi Faye
Getting concerned that we haven't heard back from you yet - this is a very serious failure - and to put it bluntly your dealer has been 'very unhelpful'.
If you would prefer, please email me - email address to be found on the Welcome Board.

Hi from France, I had a lot of problems with the fuel tank delaminating it was finally replaced with help from Kia UK., by Kia Lincoln, after reading various posts on the axle brackets I thought I'd take a look at mine they don't appear to have any fresh holes in them, so I thought perhaps someone out there could point me in the direction of a picture of where the brackets are drilled. I'll check mine against the picture and drill the holes myself ,if necessary. Thanks in advance. Ken S.

I have a 2008 Sorento Titan automatic that no longer has an engine thanks to engine engineering of Paisley, Scotland, who seem to have "lost" it. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement with no exchange available, I am getting frustrated at lack of availability of straight purchase engines.

Hi and Welcome iant43That's a real whoops... Would I be right in thinking you had put your engine for a full overhaul and you haven't paid yet? If so, then they owe you an engine - and a court action, 'small claims' seems appropriate. Whilst that is going on all I can suggest is that if you cannot find someone to supply you with a recon unit plus a premium for no exchange, then try the online breakers - you may well get an engine with plenty of life left in it. You could start here: www.breakeryard.com/Sorry not to be of more help... Regards

G'day fellas - can anyone tell me how to remove the trim panel from the tailgate (2003 Sorento) so I can access the central locking? The keyless unlocking of the tailgate has become a bit hit and miss so it's probably a sticky solenoid or something similar but the buttons securing the the trim to the tail gate have me a bit stumped. I assume they are the same on UK versions, a button with a cross head insert (which just rotates doesn't screw). Bit reticent to start prising it off and risk damaging the securing panel buttons. Any clues?
