Yep got my letter today, personally i think Kia should be offering this upgrade free of charge, after all the Sportage has these functions already, just another money making exercise by Kia, not impressed by the way they work !!
Some random jottings from an old grumpy on this arising:
Most of us see examples of Brits being ripped off and quite rightly see red to varying extents.
The problem is that moaning to our 'mates' at best only eases the angst and shares user knowledge and gives a localised feel for how wide spread the apparent rip off might be.
In this case the extent is 'all affected Sorento owners' and there is apparently an inequality between the way Kia treat Sorento as opposed to Sportage owners.
Can I suggest that if enough affected owners complain to Kia Customer Services then they might just do something about it.
So come on Peeps bang off an email to to Kia Customer Services asking for a FREE UPDATE stating your reason for the request and make sure you require a copy to be forwarded to the UK Kia CEO for his Personal Attention.
If you do not get a positive response from Customer Services then email again to Kia Customer Services BUT, this time, write direct to the CEO and ask CS to 'PLEASE FORWARD' the email and remind them that that:
" IT IS AN OFFENCE IN LAW NOT TO FORWARD AN EMAIL AS REQUESTED UNLESS THE PERSON CAN DEMONSTRATED VERIFIABLE EVIDENCE THAT THE REQUESTED RECIPIENT HAS AUTHORISED THE PERSON TO ACT ON THEIR BEHALF".
When emailing the CEO it is easiest to attach a copy of your email and the CS unacceptable response with a simple message that the response is unacceptable, state that Kia appears intent on alienating Sorento owners and ask what he proposes to do about it.
I know that finding the time can be difficult but it really is worth making the effort because a 'COLLECTIVE APPROACH' has been proved time and time again to be more effective.
I am not sure how this Forum feels about petitions but another option might be for one of the affected owners to raise a poll/petition and send out an alerting email shot to all members. It could then be forwarded to Kia Customer Services on behalf of everyone.

Unfortunately I've only just seen your idea about complaint on mass to Kia, I've already paid the £69.99 for the upgrade, I do agree though that sportage owners get a better deal than us sorento owners
